The OER Foundation coordinates the New Zealand Centre for Open Education Practice.

The national Centre for Open Education Practice (coep.nz) is a research, development, and practice collaboration providing leadership, networking, and support to higher education institutions and practitioners in Aotearoa New Zealand. It aims to accelerate the adoption of Open Educational Resources (OER) and Open Educational Practices (OEP) for the benefit of learners.

The Centre for Open Education Practice:

  • Provides free access to digital literacy courses for all New Zealand learners
  • Convened the 2019 inaugural national symposium (OER people make a better world) at Otago Polytechnic, Dunedin
  • Conducted a national study investigating students’ views on the cost of access to textbooks in post-secondary education in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Supports professional development for New Zealand educators through the Extend NZ initiative
